The Gender Wars

7.1 So the DSBN and Warren Hoshizaki have made it a point to avoid hiring racialized individuals. They would also rather hire and accommodate Persons with Disabilities than racialized individuals. But things don’t stop there! The DSBN and Warren Hoshizaki are misogynistic in addition to being racist and biased in their hiring process.

7.2 The DSBN and Warren Hoshizaki (2020) census shows that only 26% of the census workforce is male and 71% is female. It represents a female (2020) percentage that is 19.4% GREATER than the (2016) Niagara Region’s overall female population of 51%. And not surprising the (2020) male presence is 22.4% LOWER than the (2016) Niagara Region’s average male population of 48.4%.

7.3 This means that females almost out number males 3 to 1 in the DSBN workforce.

7.4 How have the DSBN and Warren Hoshizaki been able to get away with similar unlawful recruiting practices for so many years? Because it is the DSBN culture and way of life!

7.5 Employees remain silent while being very aware of what occurs daily at their workplaces and schools. Why? – Because I’ve got a job, and I want to help a family member or a friend get employment here. So I will ignore the obvious, play the game because I can benefit from it! Welcome to Organizational Whiteness!

7.6 The Employment Equity Act clearly states: The purpose of the Act is to achieve equality in the workplace so that NO PERSON shall be denied employment opportunities or benefits for reasons unrelated to ability and, in the fulfillment of that goal, to correct the conditions of disadvantage in employment experienced by men and women, Aboriginal individuals, persons with disabilities and members of racialized groups by giving effect to the principle that employment equity means more than treating persons in the same way but also requires special measures and the accommodation of differences.

7.7 It is obvious that the DSBN and Warren Hoshizaki did not bother to read or follow this act and decided to go rogue in their desire to create a sexist Organizational Whiteness DSBN!
